THE SHADOW BOXER
PROJECT
DECEMBER, 2025
FILM
Determined to live up to his father’s legacy, a young boxer dedicates himself to following in the footsteps of the champion who came before him. Yet as his journey unfolds, he discovers an essential truth: success does not come from becoming someone else, but from embracing his own strengths and defining his own path. Through perseverance, self-discovery, and courage, he finds his place in the ring and learns to honor his father’s memory in his own way.
I had the opportunity to compose the music for this film from October through the first week of December 2025. The score draws inspiration from the classic sports-drama tradition, particularly the cinematic language established by films such as Rocky. The music combines orchestral writing with electronic elements, creating a sound that reflects both the physical intensity of boxing and the protagonist’s internal struggle to establish his own identity.
The orchestral elements provide the emotional and triumphant foundation of the score, while electronic textures add a contemporary edge and reinforce the film’s energetic atmosphere. Together, these elements accompany the protagonist’s progression from living in the shadow of his father to discovering his own voice and sense of purpose.
I am deeply grateful to director Dominic Sbrocco for trusting me with the music for this inspiring project. It was a pleasure to collaborate with such a talented team and to contribute to a story centered on perseverance, identity, and the courage to forge your own path.
The film was selected for four film festivals: I.F.B. Studios Film Festival, Bocas Film Festival, Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Short Film and Script Festival.
